WHAT REMAINS OF THE LOVES OF OUR MOTHERS

by Cathy Dubois
Expected 2025 – 70 minutes – France

Towards the end of the colonial period, before independence and before the great migrations, when Paris welcomed less than 500 African students, my mother, blue eyes and blond hair, fell in love with a handsome Senegalese. Their love didn't last long enough to make them a parent couple. My injured mother, my absent father, left me without words to deal with the questions raised. In search of words, I explore this interbreeding without transmission.
