When musicians Yann and Émilie Tiersen discovered the sale of L'Escale, the former nightclub of Ouessant that had been closed for 15 years, they saw it as an opportunity to realize a dream: to create recording studios on their adopted island. In this mythical place for the Ouessantins, the couple also wants to make it a cultural hub, Eskal. This project does not arrive alone in the island landscape, while tourism and second homes seem to set the mood, a new generation is reappropriating the shops and investing in associative life. d'Escale en Eskal thus becomes the metaphor of a changing island, through the testimony of its inhabitants and the transformation of a place where decibels will resonate for a long time.
